Automated card dealer. School group design project in Summer 2024.
Automated card shuffler and dealer, capable of recognizing players, identifying cards, and calculating the winner of a "Texas Hold 'Em" poker hand
Design Requirements:
Shuffle a deck of cards within 8 seconds
Distribute 1 card at a time around a table
Deal cards both face down and face up
Track which cards are in which players' hand
Calculate winner at end of each hand
Design Process:
Design in SolidWorks included shuffler, card flipper, base rotation, and card distribution system
Split up among 4 group members
Designed to be 3D printed
Testing/Validation:
Product testing resulted in fine-tuning card roller placement to remove 1 single card at a time
Weights were added on top of the deck to enable consistent shuffling
Card storage chamber modified to increase consistency of card alignment
Controls/Electronics:
Coded in C++/Robot C (common educational coding language)
